Mrs. Frances Evans Martfeld died at her home Friday, March 22. Funeral services conducted by Rev Abbot were held in the Presbyterian Church at O'Neill Sunday afternoon.

The closing incidents of a life occurred in the quiet morning of Friday March 22,1907 when the end came peaceful ably, but unexpectedly to Mrs. Henry Martfeld of Emmet. The news of her death brought a deep feeling of sadness to a large circle of friends. The funeral was held from the Presbyterian church, O'Neill on Sunday. There was a very large attendance and sincere sympathy was expressed to the members of the bereaved family, consisting of a sorrowing husband, he being sick for the past 3 weeks with pneumonia and almost too sick to fully realize his wife's demise, and 5 children, John aged 20, Willie aged 18, Bertha aged 16, Mabel aged 14, and Frances aged 8. Interment took place in O'Neill Cem.

Mary Frances Evans was born in Allamahee Co, Iowa in 1859, moving to Nebr. with her parents in 1881, who located near Emmet; here she grew to womanhood and April 13,1886 was united in marriage to Henry Martfeld. Mrs. Martfeld's illness was only of a few days. She became a Christian when a young lady and united with the United Brethren Church and maintained a steadfast faith in God to the end.

Thus a generous neighbor, a loyal wife, a loving and considerate mother has passed from us. In all she possessed a splendid personality.

The family wishes to express their deepest thanks for the kindness shown them during the illness and death of their dear mother.
